Pathful for Mississippi

The Individual Success Plan. WBL documentation. MSIS 2.0. Pathful was built for this.

  • Individual Success Plan (ISP)Mississippi's mandatory career plan under Public School Accountability Standard 14.1.1, completed before every student exits 7th grade.
  • Mississippi Readiness IndexThe state's revised accountability measure, effective 2025-26, folding CTE outcomes, credentials, and diploma endorsements into one score.
  • Learn to Earn ActMiss. Code Ann. § 37-71-5, the WBL statute directing four state agencies to identify eligible high-school-to-work apprenticeships.
  • Perkins V 5S1Mississippi's confirmed program-quality indicator: recognized postsecondary credential attainment.
  • MS-CPAS2Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System, the state's occupation-specific technical skills assessment.
  • MSIS 2.0Mississippi's just-modernized statewide student information system.
Mississippi alignment

Mississippi is moving fast. Pathful already fits where it's headed.

Mississippi runs CTE and workforce policy through a small, centralized set of agencies: MDE/SBE owns K-12 policy and is the state's sole Perkins V eligible agency, CTWDE (restructured in 2024) is MDE's secondary CTE office, MCCB governs the state's 15 community and junior colleges as a statutory co-signer of the Perkins V State Plan, and MDES now houses the brand-new Mississippi Office of Apprenticeship. Every requirement running through that structure has a direct counterpart in Pathful.

  • ~137 local school districtsPlus charter LEAs under the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board.
  • 15 community/junior collegesEach anchoring a defined multi-county service area, governed by MCCB.
  • 94 Area Technical CentersDelivering secondary CTE, often in partnership with the local community college.

Why now

70,000+Grade 7–12 students enrolled in a CTE course, 2023-24, across 500+ schools.
2026Mississippi Office of Apprenticeship launches July 1, a brand-new state agency with no legacy compliance system.
2025–26Mississippi Readiness Index replaces the prior CCR indicators; fall 2026 sets a new baseline.
2026–27Mississippi Classroom to Career Network launches, naming ISPs as a core statewide component.

Mississippi requires

  • Individual Success Plan (ISP)

Required under Public School Accountability Standard 14.1.1, completed before every student exits 7th grade, and used as the guiding tool inside the required CCR course (Class of 2022+).

  • Four diploma/endorsement paths

Traditional (24 units), Career and Technical Endorsement, Academic Endorsement, and Distinguished Academic Endorsement (26+ units each), plus the new 2025-26 Bridge-to-Career Course option.

  • Learn to Earn Act WBL documentation

Miss. Code Ann. § 37-71-5 directs four agencies jointly (SBE, MDES, SWIB, MCCB) to identify eligible apprenticeships/internships and establish labor-law exemption paperwork.

  • Child labor law compliance

    Age-based hour restrictions (ages 14–15: max 3 hrs/school day, 8 hrs/non-school day) and hazardous-occupation exemptions for voluntary apprenticeship/work-training/student-learner programs.

  • Perkins V program quality: 5S1

Confirmed floor is recognized postsecondary credential attainment; a 2022 State Board action added 5S3 (WBL) but current Advance CTE data shows 5S1 only.

  • Statewide CTE curriculum, 4-year revision cycle

44 CTE skill pathways across 15 of 16 national career clusters, standardized statewide and coordinated by the Research and Curriculum Unit at Mississippi State University.

Pathful delivers

  • Career Plan builder

A multi-year, exploration-to-plan structure beginning in middle school, with O*NET-integrated career exploration, financial-planning tools, and FAFSA workflow guidance built for the ISP's ongoing-discussion format.

  • Pathful Planner pathway tracking

Course-sequencing across all four diploma/endorsement credit structures, flagging which path a student is on track to complete.

  • JobreadyWBL placement documentation

One system producing the paperwork all four Learn to Earn Act agencies need for the same student-apprenticeship record, instead of four separate processes.

  • Hour tracking & age-based rules

Placement hour logging built to reflect Mississippi's age-based scheduling restrictions and exemption categories.

  • JobreadyCTE credential/IRC tracking

The anchor product for Mississippi's confirmed Perkins V 5S1 indicator; if 5S3 is confirmed, JobreadyWBL's hour-tracking becomes equally material.

  • Competency & pace tracking

One system tracking every student against whichever version of the RCU-coordinated statewide curriculum is currently in force, without a district having to rebuild each 4-year cycle.
