Gwinnett County Public Schools has partnered with Pathful since 2015, redefining what it means to be a CTE student in GCPS. The district uses Pathful to challenge outdated perceptions of CTE while giving teachers and counselors the tools to make career conversations relevant.

Their goal with Pathful

GCPS set out to build engaging programs and courses that reveal diverse pathways to students' futures, redefine CTE education for every stakeholder, and help students navigate career decisions with confidence.

Impact

Dr. Kyle Jones, GCPS Director of Academies and CTE, notes that Pathful "really helped an individual teacher feel like they had a tool that helped students explore career interests and start conversations around careers. It gave teachers some points of reference they didn't have prior, which is incredibly valuable." He adds that it has positively impacted counseling staff and is changing the perception of CTE across Gwinnett County.

How they use Pathful

GCPS has built Pathful into CTE courses and advisory programs and made it available to all middle and high school students. That accessibility has boosted usage among students exploring career options and drawn in teachers using the Employability Skills Library to teach soft skills and weave career education into their lessons.

How we found success

Recognizing the time and follow-through a district-wide implementation requires, GCPS worked closely with their Customer Success Manager on in-depth trainings — giving teachers time to dive into Pathful's resources and plan how to use the tools in their classrooms.
