An Overview of the Types of Live WBL Sessions Available Through Pathful

In the Work-Based Learning (WBL) section of Pathful, students and teachers can sign up for pre scheduled live work-based learning sessions featuring industry professionals. There are two types of these sessions: Pathful Presents and Industry Presents Sessions. These sessions can be found in the Join an upcoming session, and spotlighted sessions are featured on the Discover sections of the platform. You can also access recorded versions of previous sessions in the Videos section of the Work-based Learning module.

Pathful Presents and Industry Presents sessions are designed to connect students with  real-world professionals and enhance their college and career exploration and work-based learning experiences through live sessions where students can ask questions and learn more about a topic or career.

The biggest difference between these two types is who is the host. Pathful Presents are hosted by Pathful, featuring industry professionals from companies across the country. Industry presents are hosted by our national and local industry partners, companies like Air and Space Force, Texas Health, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. In all of these sessions, we bridge the gap between industry and education by bringing professionals directly into your classroom.

Pathful Presents are dynamic, live-hosted sessions featuring a diverse group of industry experts who discuss a wide variety of thoughtfully selected topics and careers. Through engaging presentations, our carefully selected industry experts provide students with an insider’s view of various professions, address their questions about career paths, impart knowledge and skills applicable throughout their lives, and offer valuable advice to guide their future decisions.

Industry Presents are led by Pathful’s industry partners, who present on careers or topics that are important to their specific industries or areas of expertise. These sessions are designed to give learners a firsthand view of what matters most in certain fields, allowing them to gain an inside look into the careers presented. Participants also receive insights into the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities within specific sectors, enhancing their understanding of the professional landscape.

Both Pathful Presents and Industry Presents serve as valuable tools in the WBL program by offering students direct access to industry knowledge and fostering connections with professionals. Students can hear from industry experts and get their questions answered, enriching their understanding of various career paths. These experiences help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the world of work, preparing students for their future academic journeys and careers.
